I am old enough to remember Laurie Macs years at GTFC, piror to him it was crowds of 2-3 K, but momentum was built early season and crowds increased, they increased so much that we regularly exceeded 10K and finished the season with 22K, reality says we cannot achieve that sort of support again, but if we start this season well, we WILL attract 4K and if it continues 5K for home games and upwards, we just need momentum early season and the watch us go!

my only concern is formation with the balance of the squad, seems to me we have deployed a 4-5-1 under the guise its a 4-3-3 when we attack which ultimately ends up with one traditional striker down the centre....we have 5 on the books....either four are going to be disappointed at not starting and realistically if four dont start then all four wont be on the bench. Hearn, Hannah, Cook and Lewis will be the ones feeling the frustration i think as Southwell will find it easier to deploy wide if selected or to accept the bench as a younger pro. With Neilson, Colbeck and Rodman the natural choice for a wider position there is not that much competition there, one missing out each week so on the bench. Centre mid we only to drop one of the four, Disley, Kerr, Paddy or Thanoj so again one guaranteed cover on the bench at worst. At the back Doig has a coaching perspective so may only expect to warm the bench for large parts and cover for suspensions etc which really leaves Hatton and Bignot taking turns to get splinters as the other three are shoe ins.
