Excellent news from the club this morning that Paul Bignot is signed a 1 year contract, does this signal the beginning of the end for Hatton? D'ont think any player recently has divided opinion quite as much as Sam, for what its worth i d'ont particularly rate him, doesn't get tight enough to his man for my liking, so would be pleased to see PB take the RB spot with young Walker as a standby should Bignot have to cover at CB from time to time. I believe it is rumoured that Hatton hasn't settled up north either and wants to go back down south, so this would surely suit all parties?

I thought he'd been brought in primarily as a centre back who can also cover full back?

Think he is versatile to which position, but i might be wrong, suppose it depends if we decide to give Doig a contract or get another CB in - perhaps you are right and i'm missing the plan and he will be CB with Hatton RB, hope not cause as i mentioned i personally am not a great fan of Hatton, i'm not one who gives him verbal as many do, but there just seems something missing with his game for me as a right back, reckon he relies too much on his right midfielder to help him out and isn't in his opponents face enough - bit too laid back IMO.

The signing is a challenge to Hatton to stay at a high standard or let someone else into his place - just a different person over his shoulder this year as Wood was there last year !
Every player needs someone to challenge them to keep standards high - ask Andy Cook last year until his chance came and he started scoring !
Good signing once he is fully fit and stays that way !

Don't disagree on Hatton Pete he seems a bit to casual for my liking. Looking at both Bignot and Doig on paper they are perfect for us 1 cb who also plays right back and 1 cb who also plays left back. The only reservations I have is can Doig play a lot of games as he hasn't managed a lot in the last couple of years.

Looking at tonights game where Hatton was inexplicably played in centre mid first half and then left back second half ,looking shoddy at both, i hope and pray they dynamic duo actually realise he is too slow.... first goal and all second half when ripped past by most of the Bradford squad, pondorous..throughout and nothing more than second rate cover.
